Dr. Jason Franz Named Journal of Applied Biomechanics Deputy Editor
The Journal of Applied Biomechanics (JAB) and its publisher, Human Kinetics, have recently announced the appointment of Jason Franz (PhD) as Deputy Editor. Dr. Franz will begin his one-year term immediately and will collaborate with JAB Editor Dr. Katherine Boyer in 2025. It is expected that Dr. Franz will assume the role of Editor once Dr. Boyer’s term ends in December 2025.
Dr. Franz is an Associate Professor of Rehabilitation Engineering in the Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of North Carolina (UNC) at Chapel Hill and North Carolina State University. Dr. Franz became a member of the JAB Editorial Board in 2017. He was appointed JAB Associate Editor of Gait & Posture Mechanics in 2019 and has continued in that capacity, initially working with Editor Emeritus Michael Madigan and later with Dr. Boyer. Dr. Franz was chosen due to his extensive experience within the current leadership team, his notable publishing achievements, and his contributions to the field of Biomechanics.
