Andrea Brandt, a Ph.D. student studying biomedical engineering, helps Charles Humphries, a third-year studying mechanical engineering, remove a motor-powered lower leg prosthetic in a lab in Engineering Building III on Nov. 21. With her research, Brandt aims to improve upon the performance of lower limb prosthesis in everyday life. "There isn't as much research for prosthetic legs as there is for prosthetic arms" Humphries said when asked about his decision to participate in the research.
