Jason Franz Receives 2022 University Teaching Award
Dr. Jason Franz was among 25 faculty members and teaching assistants at UNC to be honored with the 2022 University Teaching Award.
These awards are given annually and acknowledge the University's commitment to outstanding teaching and mentoring for graduate and undergraduate students. The awards are administered by the Center for Faculty Excellence and are chosen by the University Teaching Awards Committee. Over 800 nominations were summited to the committee, and the 25 winners were honored in six categories.
Since 2015, Dr. Franz has served as an Assistant Professor in the Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering and the Director of the UNC Applied Biomechanics Laboratory. His laboratory’s mission is to preserve independent mobility and prevent falls in our rapidly aging population through scientific, technological, and translational innovation.
