REC Seed Grant Leads to Journal Article in Nature's; Scientific Reports

In the spring of 2014, the Rehab Engineering Core awarded a Seed Grant in the amount of 25K to fund a joint NC State / UNC project. The PI's on this project, Gregory Sawicki, Associate Professor & Director of PoWeR Lab and Kota Takahashi, (former) Postdoctoral Scholar in Greg's lab; now in the Department of Biomechanics at the University of Nebraska at Omaha with their collaborator Professor Michael Gross in the Division of Physical Therapy at UNC-CH. They began working on this project in summer of 2014 to collect pilot data that eventually led to a Journal Article in Nature's - Scientific Reports, titled Adding Stiffness to the Foot Modulates Soleus Force-Velocity Behaviour during Human Walking.
